Natural Reserve of Zingaro

The beautiful beaches of Sicily surely deserve a deeper discussion of the splendid Reserve of the Zingaro.

It extends to the western part of the Gulf of Castellammare, between Castellammare town and Trapani city, precisely on the peninsula of San Vito lo Capo facing the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Its coast is seven kilometres  of uncontaminated beauty, situated on a chain of mountains that form a perfect frame on the summit on the water.

The ocean reflects various colors ranging from Turkish blue, celestial blue, and plain blue, and the water is always crystal clear forming unique landscapes.

The Reserve of the Zingaro is very important for the richness of plants and fauna.

In fact, birds nest here and  to reproduce at least 39  different species of birds, including birds of prey, pilgrim hawks, gheppios (kestrels), and poianas (buzzards).
