Corleone, in the province of Palermo, is one of the most attractive Sicilian villages.

Known above all for the events related to the Mafia, it is actually a place that offers so much to travelers on an architectural and landscape level.

Corleone is extremely rich city of monuments, among which we remember the Mother Church, built in Norman style in the XIV century and dedicated to Saint Martin.

The interior has three naves and preserves numerous frescoes executed in the eighteenth century, in conjunction with restoration work that involved the whole building.

In the central square of the city there are the eighteenth-century Palazzo del Comune and the Clock Tower. just outside the town there is the convent and the church of Sant’Agostino, built in the XVIII century and rich in decorative stuccos.

On top of the two mountains that dominate Corleone you can admire the remains of two castles, Castello Soprano and Castello Sottano (today the Franciscan hermitage).

Corleone has acquired the title of World Capital of Legality by virtue of the numerous social initiatives against the Mafia.

There is also the CIDMA, a museum where documents and proceedings are kept to underline the great work done by the Judges in the fight against the mafia.
